Unsubscribes, bounces and complaints

  • Unsubscribe: every email has a link, and Gmail and Yahoo show their own one-click button. It works at once.
  • Hard bounce: the address does not exist. The contact is marked bounced at once.
  • Soft bounce: a full mailbox, for example. Three in a row count as a hard bounce.
  • Complaint: the person marked it as spam. The contact is never emailed again.

An import, a form or the API never subscribes somebody again. Only the person, or you on their request, can.

Next to Unsubscribe, every email also links the person's own email settings page: they can choose which emails they want instead of leaving.
